Each week, America tunes in to watch NBC's "The Voice," the music competition where Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera try to find the next big singing sensation.

Last night, the battle began as vocalists tried to out-sing one another to keep their place on their team and move on to the next live performance.

The competition was fierce last night as each singer did their best to soar to new heights, stretch the limits of their vocal range and show the judges that they have what it takes to be a star.

From Team Blake, Adley Stump and Brian Fuente were sent home early while Jordis Unga did her best to rock the house and young RaeLynn took one step closer to becoming America's newest sweetheart.

Cheesa won the competition between her and Angie Johnson from Team Cee Lo, as she channeled Beyonce  while singing "Total Eclipse of the Heart."

Adam Levine's team member Tony Lucca will live to see another day on stage, while Chris Cauley gave it all singing "Beautiful Day" but still was eliminated from the competition.

For me, however, it was Team Christina who stole the show last night with two powerhouse performances that raised the roof. First, classically-trained opera singer Chris Mann competed with Monique Benabou as they sang Celine Dion's "The Power of Love," a performance which moved many audience members to tears.

Then down-on-his-luck daddy Jesse Campbell and gospel singer Anthony Evans  performed "If I Ain't Got You," both singers delivering performances that were so strong the judges had a difficult time deciding who to send home.
