J.W.’s News Update: Thursday October 27, 2011

A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for this afternoon at 1pm in Texarkana, Arkansas. Ground will be broken for a Hotel/Convention Center to be built in the Crossroads Business Park,  just north of Interstate 30 and east of Highway 71 (Stateline Avenue).

Texarkana, Texas has already broken ground on their own Hotel/Convention Center which is being built just east of Central Mall on Cowhorn Creek Road. Construction on that venue is already underway.

The Miller County Health Department is conducting a free flu shot clinic today until 3:30 pm at the Four States Fairgrounds. The shots are for people 6 months of age or older.

In Sports:

The Texas Rangers are one win away from their 1st World Series Title. Game 6 is tonight in St. Louis. Colby Lewis takes the mound for the Rangers vs. Jamie Garcia for the Cardinals. If the Redbirds win, then a 7th and deciding game would be played tommorrow ( Friday) night in Missouri.
