J.W.’s News Update: Monday November 21, 2011

The Texarkana City Board meets tonight. The meetings get underway at 5:30 with a City Budget Workshop, then a Texarkana Water Utilities Workshop at 6:30, followed by the regular meeting at 7pm. The public is invited to attend the open portions of tonights meetings.

No one is holding out any hope of a last minute surprise agreement to cut $1.2 trillion dollars in deficits over the next decade. The special bi-partisan " super committee" of Congress is expected to call it quits with no agreement. No agreement is supposed to mean spending reductions across the board starting in 2013.

The Dallas Cowboys have improved to 6-4 after yesterdays overtime victory in D.C. against the Redskins. Next up is the Thanksgiving Day game at home vs. the Miami Dolphins.
