The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department wants to make the spring and end of school year safer for motorists by conducting stepped up enforcement. The officers will be looking for impaired drivers and especially young adults and teens that choose to drink and drive. As we approach school spring break and the time for high school proms, the police departemtn wil be conducting DWI/DUI Mobilizations.

The Texarkana, Arkansas Police Chief Bob Harrison states," Our message is especially importatn at this time of the year when many more young people are on the road for spring breakds and end of school activities such as proms and graduations. For a young driver, this means one drink is all it takes to be impaired. Impaired driving is not just another traffic offense; it is a serious crime that often causes needless deaths and injuries."

Underage drinking laws in all 50 states make it illegal for those under the age of 21 to consume any amount of alcohol.
