What a week for Golf Icon Arnold Palmer. He celebrated his 83rd birthday and then was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal. It's the highest honor given to civilians by Congress and is in recognition of the service to the country in promoting excellence and good sportsmanship.

From all accounts, it's hard to meet a nicer person than Arnold Palmer. Sure he was a great golfer in his day, but of course there have been better and those who have won more tournaments and set more records. But Arnie's Army as it was called formed because people love Palmer and appreciated the way he treated his fans.

So many superstar athletes are said to be rued and often cool to the fans of their game. Not Arnold who has rarely if ever turns down a request and has always smiled and talked to the fans.

Palmer also is big on charity events and has several hospitals that treat women and children and are operating because of him.

I have been a fan since childhood and count as one of those super stars that I would love to meet or interview......

Happy 83rd birthday Mr. Palmer.
