Girl Scout cookie season won't be here for a while, but start working out now because come spring of 2017 two new cookies will debut.

I have a feeling these new cookies are going to be very -- and I mean very -- popular. Both flavors will be called S'mores. Oh, be still my heart and my waistline.

The Girl Scouts use two commercial bakers for all Girl Scout cookies, said Chris McCreight, Communications Director.

"Each Girl Scout council chooses a licensed baker, either ABC Bakers or Little Brownie Bakers. Each baker uses different names for some cookies. So a cookie may be called 'Samoas when baked by one baker and 'Caramel deLites' when baked by the other. The two cookies look and taste similar, but the name of the cookie and the recipe are dependent on the baker. The exception is Thin Mints, which is the name both bakers use to describe their chocolate-mint cookie, and now Girl Scout 'S’mores,' which will share the same name, but has two different recipes," she explained.

So, the Girl Scouts will be making two different versions and will be available in select markets, including Texarkana. The first S'more will be a graham cracker cookie dipped in icing and covered in chocolate. The other S'more will be two graham cookies with filling of chocolate and marshmallow. Yum.

My favorite Girl Scout cookies are Thin Mints but I just might have to buy extra boxes next year and you guessed it...some of those boxes will be S'mores.
