Get ready for some fun for the entire family.

The Junior League of Texarkana will host its 6th annual “Touch a Truck" event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 11, 2015, at Front Street in downtown Texarkana. Admission is $3 per person. Children under 1 year of age may attend at no charge.

Touch a Truck is a Junior League of Texarkana fundraiser that also educates children by allowing them the opportunity to explore trucks, construction vehicles, and public safety equipment. This year, Touch a Truck will also host a helicopter, along with games, balloon animals and face painting. The first 250 kids to arrive will receive a free construction hat. And, the first 200 kids who turn in their cards showing they visited all of the trucks will receive a free goodie bag.

All of the money raised from Touch a Truck will benefit kids in the Texarkana community through various Junior League endeavors.

“This event is significant to me and our organization. Touch-A-Truck is not only educational for the children, but it also raises money to go towards other local Junior League endeavors such as providing shoes or reading books to our neighborhood kids in need,” said Katie DeLoach, Touch a Truck 2014-2015 co-chairperson.

The Junior League of Texarkana is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
