The Great Texarkana Duck Race is Saturday, Aug. 22
Time to get your ducks all in a row, literally! The Great Texarkana Duck Race is coming up this Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015 at Holiday Springs Water Park, presented by Christus St. Michael Health System. The Duck Race will benefit Cancer Patient Care at the W. Temple Webber Cancer Center at Christus St. Michael Health System.
Everyone who has adopted a rubber duck for this event will have the opportunity to win some great prizes including the grand prize a 2015 Kia Rio from ClasssicTexarkana Kia. This will mark the third year in a row that thousands of rubber ducks will float down the "River Rapids" lazy river beginning at 10:30AM.
The first duck to cross the finish line will win the top duck prize, the 2015 Kia Rio. Second prize is a $1,000 gift certificate for dry cleaning and laundry from Holiday Cleaners. The third-place duck will win a $500 gift card from Super 1 Foods. Fourth prize is a Mayo Corner Chair from Lafferty’s Home Center, and the fifth-place prize is a set of 18 ct. Tacori Smoky Quartz Earrings from Alexander’s Jewelers. Monkey Island and Splash Mountain Texarkana will be open from 9AM to 11AM for family fun activities on race day.
Ducks may be adopted for $5 each or you may adopt five ducks and receive a sixth duck free for a donation of $25. Adoptions will be available at christusstmichaelfoundation.org until noon Friday, Aug. 21, or by calling Duck Central at 903-614-7223 until 6PM on Friday, Aug. 22.
Duck adoption papers may be obtained at Duck Central, Christus St. Michael Health System, 2600 St. Michael Drive, Texarkana, Texas.
Proceeds from previous duck races have helped to build the Pediatric Unit and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of CHRISTUS St. Michael, benefited area cancer patients, purchased a patient transport van, and more.
