The Texas HighSteppers of Texas High School earned top team, officer and individual honors during the Gussie Nell Davis Classic in Kilgore, TX, on February 18.
Team Awards received were the Sweepstakes Award and Gussie Nell Davis Award of Excellence for earning scores of 90 or above for all judges for all team routines.
Other Team Awards received were: Best Overall Platinum Awards for Technique, Presentation, Precision and Choreography; Third Place for Medium Team GPA Award (3.67 Overall Team GPA); Fourth Place Best in Class. Of the 42 teams participating, the Texas HighSteppers received a ranking of Tenth Overall.
The HighStepper Officers brought home the Sweepstakes Award and Gussie Nell Davis Award of Excellence along with Judges’ Award for their Jazz, Contemporary, Team Kick, Novelty, Military and Pom routines. Additionally, they received the Best Overall Silver Awards for Technique and Choreography and Fourth Place Best in Class.
Medalists for Division 1 Exemplary Soloists include: Sarah Grace Boudreaux, Madison Bowers, Emily McMaster, Parker Ellyn Madlock, Addison Rogers, Sarah Stark and Leighton Weber.
In the Duet routine competition, Sarah Grace Boudreaux and Addison Rogers earned Division 1 Exemplary scores for their efforts.
