The City of Texarkana, Texas has begun work on the initial phase of a street maintenance plan that consists of nearly 100 projects across the city.

Work  began in May and will continue through the end of the year; the projects are estimated to cost $3 million.

Projects include chip seals, 1” and 2” asphalt overlays, mill and overlays, full depth street reconstructions and concrete replacement.

Residents in affected areas can expect some interrupted access during the project.

The plan is the product of a Pavement Condition Survey conducted by contractor DTS during fiscal year 2017. The survey resulted in a proposed five-year maintenance plan to improve street conditions within Texarkana, Texas, beginning in 2018.
