The scouting for food canned food drive is going on now to benefit Harvest Texarkana.

This drive is pretty neat in that the boy scouts drop off bags at your home that you fill up with can goods and the local mail carriers will pick the bags up on Saturday. These are the items that are needed, soup, beef stew, chili, canned fish, canned meat, vegetables and fruits, and peanut butter. Please no perishable items like frozen foods, or glass containers, or anything homemade items, please.

The Boy Scouts are also collecting books for the literacy council. Please put these in a separate bag and they will be collected on Saturday as well.
