Provide a Pet a Pad — Sad and Scared Dog at the Animal Shelter [VIDEO/PHOTOS]
This sweet shepherd mix is between one and two years old. She is very frightened to be at the shelter and would do so much better if she was in a home. She walks great on a leash and appears to be very healthy. She loves affection.
You can see the difference from the photos before she was in the shelter and then watch the video of how she is doing in the shelter and you will see a huge difference. It can be a very scary place to be with all the sounds and smells.
This video was taken when she was in the holding pens where dogs go when they first come to the shelter. She was very scared so I took her out and walked her around which is where I discovered she is great on a leash and very, very sweet.
The photos came from when she was in Cass County. Somehow she started in the Atlanta, Texas area and now is at the shelter in Texarkana. If dogs could talk, what stories we would hear.

It is so unfortunate that there are thousands of dogs that are euthanized every year in our local shelter when there are so many dogs that would make fabulous pets. Please help us make a difference by spreading the word. Share this post on your Facebook page and Tweet about it, too.
The shelter's adoption fees range from $40 to $144, depending on the gender and size of the animal or whether they have been spayed or neutered yet. You can also have your pet micro-chipped for only $20 right at the shelter! That way if your pet is ever lost, he can be returned to you quickly.
If you would like to foster a dog contact the shelter to get information about dog rescues in our area that can help.
