Phantom Ball Coming up Next Month
Make plans to join in the fun at the Phantom Ball in Texarkana this February.
On Saturday, February 27, the Temple Memorial Rehabilitation Center will celebrate its 13th annual “Phantom Ball” at the Texarkana Convention Center, Texarkana, Texas. The proceeds of this event will benefit the client services of the Rehabilitation Center.
“Phantom Ball” will honor very special members of our community as the “Phantoms.” The criterion for “Phantom” is one who gives generously of their time and financial support to the Temple Center and the community of Texarkana. This year’s “Phantom Couple” is Dr. David and Susan Whitten.
In 1952, Dr. S.A. Collom and a gathering of Texarkana citizens founded the “Temple Home for Crippled Children” in response to the polio epidemic which was sweeping across our nation. Since that time, the Temple Center, an Easter Seals affiliate, has evolved and expanded into a premier facility providing physical, occupational and speech therapy for children and adults with disabilities.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the staff and Board of the Temple Center are committed to providing service to clients regardless of their ability to pay.
All proceeds from this event will benefit Center's scholarship fund. This fund enables the Center to treat children with no pay source or those that have exhausted their insurance benefits for the year.
Specifically, it enables the Center to treat those who cannot pay for the services provided. The Center provides about $250,000 per year in uncompensated care and depend on its fundraisers to enable them to keep their doors open and provide this much needed care.
Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are still available. Please call Anita Carver at 903-794-2705 to inquire.
