Texarkana loves to eat! And when you're living in this part of the country catfish and seafood is a southern tradition.

Happy to announce that Pier 27 in Doddridge, Arkansas will be back open for business weekends only beginning this Friday and Saturday, July 30-31.  The longtime restaurant was established in 1984 and quickly became a Texarkana area favorite. People would travel to Doddridge for the great farm-raised catfish they served up. Unfortunately, the restaurant closed its doors in 2015 and has remained closed until new owners Jon Mark and Angie McAdams bought the place.

The restaurant is located by a nearby river and in a recent interview with TXK Today, here's what they said.

“We are completely nervous and excited to reopen. We know we will be in no short supply of support from our friends and family, but we are eager to see how everyone else will respond to Pier 27 coming back,” says Angie.

The new owners have said they plan on using some of the same original recipes that made the restaurant famous. Some of those menu items include catfish, fries, beans, hushpuppies, steak, and gumbo. The McAdams also has other plans for the restaurant down the road for a unique dining experience including bringing in live music.

Just check their Facebook page for further updates and more information. The McAdams look forward to serving the community for a long time to come.

Pier 27 is located at 16095 State Hwy 237 in Doddridge Arkansas near Smith Park.
