Man Allegedly Breaks Into Cars While Churchgoers Attend Worship Service
Texarkana, Texas Police have arrested a vehicle burglary suspect.Police arrested 52-year-old Stanley Brockman of Texarkana Texas, for Burglary of a Vehicle on August 2, 2015. At about noon, officers responded to a report of a suspicious person in the area of West 10th and Stuckey Streets.
According to the 9-1-1 caller, the man had been observed looking into unattended vehicles on the Mount Orange Baptist Church parking lot. Arriving officers reported that they located Brockman, who immediately dropped several items that he was carrying and then fled. He was arrested without incident after a short foot pursuit.
Officers located two vehicles that had been burglarized in the parking lot and determined the items that Brockman dropped had been removed from those vehicles. The stolen property was recovered and returned to the owners, who had been attending church services when their vehicles were broken into.
Brockman was transported to the Bi-State Jail. He was charged with two counts of Burglary of a Vehicle and one count of Evading Arrest. His bond has been set at $15,000.
