The area outlook from the National Weather Service is showing that this nice little respite of cooler temps and rain we had here in the middle of August is over as of today. In fact, this afternoon's heat index is projected to be 103 but the temperature is only supposed to reach 89 today.

The rain was nice but it means the humidity is going to be pretty thick over the next several days and with little or no chance of rain for the next seven days or so that means the temperatures are going to feel much hotter than they are.
