Texas A&M-Texarkana officials now say a health scare involving a local college student and a possible case of meningitis has turned out to be false. University officials back in February had alerted students, faculty, and the public that a local student was being treated for a case of possible meningitis.

Further tests have concluded that the male student is suffering from a non contagious illness that is being treated. The public was notified because of the serious nature of Viral Meningitis.
