K.I.D.S. Day Camp

The Annual K.I.D.S. Day Camp is coming up Monday June 24th through Friday June 28th.The camp is a FREE camp for children ages 6 to 18 with either Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes. They are funded solely by donations form our community. Their staff includes parents and medical professionals from the Texarkana area.

The 2013 session is being held at the Boy Scout Camp at Camp Preston Hunt, located about 2.5 miles east of Loop 245 off U.S. Highway 82. The camp times are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.

The organization believes it is important that children with diabetes realize they are not alone. By meeting and interacting with other children with diabetes, the campers learn to work with their disease and develop a more positive view of their future.
