The Texarkana Arkansas Police say one of their vehicles was involved in an accident.  Authorities say two police officers were northbound in the 800 block of East Street when they were struck by a vehicle exiting a business driveway. The driver of the other car was cited for failure to yield and for no seat belt.

Three juvenile females and the two police officers were taken to Wadley Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

The extreme & dangerous heat continues across the Four States Area. Excessive heat warnings remain in effect through tommorrow. High temperatures will be approaching 110 degrees. Texarkana has set record high daytime and record high minimum low temps over the past several days. The overall highest temperature on record in Texarkana was recorded on August 10, 1938 when the high hit a scorching 117 degrees.

Arkansas Finance Officials say the state began its fiscal year with revenues coming in lower than they expected after a drop in sales tax revenue. The Department of Finance and Administration says the state's net available revenues in July totaled #377 million dollars. That's $6.4 million dollars more than last year, but $2.4 million dollars less than officials had forecast.
