The Texarkana Texas Police are looking for a bat wielding armed robber. Authorities were called last night to the 1600 Block of Spruce Street. The victim says he was attacked by a suspect described as a short black man who appeared to be in his mid 20's. He was wearing blue jeans, with a blue and pink long-sleeved sweater and a brown and white hat.

A witness was also struck with the bat. The suspect was last spotted in the vicinity of West 17th Street and Texas Boulevard. The Miller County Judge has lifted the outdoor burn ban due to the recent rainfall. However the Judge warns that conditions are not optimal for outside burning and to please use extreme caution and do not burn during high winds.

After record summertime heat many are enjoying the cooler weather. Do  not put Arkansas Cotton Farmers in that list. Cotton farmers say they need warm days and over night lows of 65 degrees or better for their crops to thrive.

The Texas Rangers begin a series in Oakland tonight against the A's. The Ranger start play five games ahead of the second place LA Angels in the American League West with less than two weeks to go in the regular season.
