If you have never been to Garvin Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs, Arkansas, you are in for a real treat during the festive holiday season.

Now through December 31, 2021, this amazing park setting near Lake Hamilton is ringing in the holidays with their daytime art installation "Wonderland." Wonderland features 9 themed areas in this 210-acre park in the natural beauty of the nearby Ouachita Mountains.

Guests will enjoy exploring new worlds as they walk the grounds over bridges, see incredible waterfalls, garden ponds, and larger-than-life lanterns reflecting the spirit of the holiday season with various sea creatures along the pathway, an all-new iridescent Jewell tree.

Your eyes will light up like a kid at Christmas when you see the miniature James the Train display and the very popular snow globe. The winter wonderland experience will continue weekly with concerts, tea parties, a daily scavenger hunt, a new exclusive party called “Reindeer Games” which is already sold out, and various other winter and holiday-themed workshops throughout the season.

Grab some snacks in the Chipmunk Cafe and enjoy some hot cocoa in front of an open fire pit in the gardens.

One of my favorites at Garvin Woodland Gardens is Anthony's Chapel, situated in a wooded area on a hill overlooking the gardens. The sheer magnitude of standing inside the chapel looking out its tall glass windows gives you a sense of peace during the hectic holiday season.

NO LIGHTS THIS YEAR

Due to COVID-19 health concerns park officials decided this year to only do the daytime winter art installation.

The land encompassing them was either purchased or donated, though much of it had been inhabited by native people for thousands of years before the founding of the United States. These areas are protected and revered as educational resources about the natural world, and as spaces for exploration.
