County Extension Agents in Miller and Little River Counties will be co-hosting a pecan workshop for area pecan growers and enthusiasts on Thursday, September 13. The meeting will be held on the UA-Cossatot Campus at Ashdown in the Millwood Room, located on the back side of the college. 

A meal will be served at 6PM with the program following.  Those interested in attending need to pre-register by September 10.  The cost for the program is $5 payable at the door.

Topics to be covered include: Pecan Fertility -- Dr. Amanda McWhirt, Horticulture Crop Specialist; Pecan Diseases and Pest Management -- Dr. Jackie Lee, Horticulture IPM Specialist; Grazing Management in Pecan Orchards -- Jennifer Caraway, Miller County Extension Agent-Agriculture, and Pecan Varieties -- Sherry Beaty-Sullivan, Little River County Extension Agent-Staff Chair/Agriculture.
