Did you know it was illegal to have a deer as a pet in Arkansas?

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission have an entire web page to let you know that if you have a deer that you obtained after June 30, 2012, it is illegal and has to be turned in to the proper authorities.

What I found to be really crazy is that you can have up to 6 different wild animals in your possession as long as they were not taken from the wild. Here are the approved animals from their site:

bobcats, coyotes, gray foxes, red foxes, opossums, quail, rabbits, raccoons or squirrels. Species that are neither hunted nor trapped, except birds (such as songbirds, hawks and owls), bats, ornate box turtles, alligator snapping turtles, hellbenders, cave-dwelling creatures or endangered species.

So if you want a wild animal as a pet go for it, just make sure that you don't have a deer around. Do you know anyone that has a wild animal as a pet?
