The 2016 K.I.D.S. Day Camp registration is under way.

The event is a free day camp for children ages 6-18 with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes. The camp gives children the opportunity to learn about their disease while enjoying recreation and fellowship with other young people who face the same challenges.

The event will be held at the Boy Scout Camp at Camp Preston Hunt located on Tennessee Road east of Texarkana, Ark.

The camp schedule is Monday June 27, through Friday, July, 1 from 8AM to 4:30PM each day. Campers may choose from a wide range of activities planned each day for all ages. Wednesday will be Water Fun Day and Thursday the entire camp will take an off campsite field trip.

The last day there will be a morning fishing tournament. Later that day, parents can attend a diabetes update with the camp staff at 5:30PM followed by dinner at 6:30PM. After the meal there will be time for the campers to share what they have accomplished during the week.

Applications for campers are accepted on a first come first served basis. Anyone wanting an application or more information should contact the Camp Director Mary Jackson at (870) 772-8700, or (903) 748-2519.
