The Texarkana area has always been known for having some of the best high school athletic talents in the area who have been recruited or drafted professionally. We always love giving a shout-out to our local talent in the area whenever we can.

Case in point, a coveted four-star 6-6, 215-pound standout tight-end from Ashdown High School Shamar Easter has committed to play college football in 2023 for Sam Pittman's Arkansas Razorbacks. Easter who is a three-sport athlete for the Ashdown Panthers chose Arkansas over other top colleges who wanted his service including SEC schools, Auburn, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Ole Miss, along with schools like Florida State, Arizona State, and Michigan State.

According to a report from KNWA Fox 24, Easter committed over the weekend and is excited to be an Arkansas Razorback. Easter and the Ashdown Panthers finished the 2020 season 7-4 and are looking for a better year going into his junior year. The Panthers open their 2021 season on August, 27, against Hamburg. Here's the complete schedule.

Shamar good luck and thanks for becoming a hog! Watch this video of Shamar telling Arkansas Coach Sam Pittman.
