Finding the Silver Lining in a Texarkana Restaurant Closing

I have some good news and some bad news about a Texarkana restaurant.

First, the bad news is Monjunis Italian Cafe located at 511 East 51st Street, just off I-30  is closing its doors effective on August 28, 2023. The good news is that you will still be able to get the same great food and service you've come to enjoy at its sister restaurant Silver Star Smokehouse with an all-new look and feel.

Monjunis opened its doors on January 30, 2023, after doing extensive improvements and upgrades to the former Copeland's building. Butter Cups Cupcakes a Shreveport tradition was also a part of Monjuinis, and will also be a part of the move to Silver Star.

New Concept

Moving the food operations to Silver Star is cost-effective and gives Texarkana more options when they dine at Silver Star Smokehouse because now you will enjoy having 3 top brands under one roof according to Owner, David Alvis. In fact, the restaurant will be revamped to have a completely new look that reflects all three brands you have come to love. New decor will be a part of combining Monjunis and Silver Star, Alvis says,  one side will be Silver Star, and the other side will be Monjunis with a Butter Cups Cupcakes display near the front entrance.

Alvis is excited about the new changes and is hoping to have everything up and ready by September 11, 2023.

"The new concept in Shreveport has already been implemented and so far it seems to be working just fine and customers are loving having 3 eateries in one building," said, Alvis.

I kind of look at it this way, now you enjoy three popular brands under one roof.
