A&M-Texarkana Nursing Program Receives Maximum Accreditation

Great news for the nursing program at Texas A&M-Texarkana.

The university's Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program has achieved the maximum 10 years of continuing accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

“We are pleased to again receive this affirmation of the excellent work of our faculty, staff and students,” said Dr. Donald Peterson, Dean of the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. “Our MSN program is dedicated to providing excellent educational opportunities in service to the healthcare industry throughout Texas and the four-state region.”

Officially recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education as a national accreditation agency, CCNE is an autonomous accrediting agency, contributing to the improvement of the public's health. CCNE ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate, graduate and residency programs in nursing.

CCNE serves the public interest by assessing and identifying programs that engage in effective educational practices. As a voluntary, self-regulatory process, CCNE accreditation supports and encourages continuing self-assessment by nursing programs and supports continuing growth and improvement of collegiate professional education and nurse residency programs.
