A&M-Texarkana Hosts Legislative Reception, Sports Meet and Greet

Here is a chance to find out what is going on with legislative issues and funding when it comes to colleges and universities in the state of Texas, particularly as it pertains to Texas A&M-Texarkana.

The Board of Regents of The Texas A&M University System, Chancellor John Sharp of The Texas A&M University System and President Emily Cutrer of Texas A&M University-Texarkana will host a reception honoring legislators Thursday, Sept. 24, from 5:30-7PM on the third floor atrium of the University Center on the A&M-Texarkana campus. There will be a brief program at 6PM.

In another event at the university,the Athletics Department and the Campus Activities Board will host a pre-Midnight Madness meet and greet in conjunction with the first official practice of the Eagles baseball team Sunday, Sept. 20, beginning at 7:15PM at George Dobson Field at Spring Lake Park in Texarkana, Texas. A&M-Texarkana will field its first-ever baseball team in spring 2016.

The public is invited to join the Eagles for the pre-Midnight Madness event, as well as the team’s practice and a five- to six-inning scrimmage at 8:30PM.

There will be games, prizes, music and food on a first-come, first-served basis.
