The Texarkana College Testing Center is offering additional testing dates and times to accommodate an influx of people expected to take the test before the end of this year.Officials expect an increase in the number of people wishing to take the exam, because beginning in January the GED Tests will be administered in a new format. Not only measure aptitude in literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies, but will also measure career and college readiness skills.

To be eligible to take the test, a person must not be enrolled or have graduated from high school, be a resident of Texas, and be at least 18 years old or present a completed TEA withdrawal form for verification.

The cost of the test and certificate is $75 and must be pre-paid during the registration process.

The upcoming test dates and times are:

November  6 -Science 7:15 a.m- Social Studies 9:15 a.m.- Reading 11:00 a.m.

November 11-Math 7:15 a.m.-Writing 9:15 a.m.-Science 12:15 p.m.-Social Studies 1:45 p.m.-Reading 3:15 p.m.

November 13-Math 7:15 a.m.-Writing 9:15 a.m.-Science 12:15 p.m.-Social Studies 1:45 p.m.-Reading 3:15 p.m.

November 19-Math 7:15 a.m.-Writing 9:15 a.m.-Science 12:15 p.m.-Social Studies 1:45 p.m.-Reading 3:15 p.m.

November 20-Math 7:15 a.m.-Writing 9:15 a.m.-Science 12:15 p.m.-Social Studies 1:45 p.m.-Reading 3:15 p.m.

December 2-Orientation 10:00 a.m.-Math 11:45 a.m.-Writing 2:15 p.m.

December 3-Math 6:45 p.m.

December 4-Science 7:15 a.m.-Social Studies 9:15 a.m.-Reading-11:00 a.m.

December 10-Writing 5:45 p.m.-Reading 8:15 p.m.

December 11-Social Studies- 5:45 p.m.-Science-7:15 p.m.
