The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved some work to be done on roadways in Southwest Arkansas.

The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a bid for improvements to roadways in Howard County, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

The purpose of this project is to surface 1.9 miles of County Roads 215 and 4 (Barton Bethel Road) near Mineral Springs. C & F Const. Co., Inc. of Smackover was awarded the contract at $214,939.86.. Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in late 2018.

Also, the Commission has approved a bid for improvements to roadways in Pike & Clark County, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.
The purpose of this project is to resurface selected sections of approximately 2 miles city streets in Delight in Pike County to include: 1st Street, Mill Street, 2nd Street, 3rd Street, Reid Street ,Key Street, E. Cherry/School Streets, and 4th Street; and in Okolona in Clark County to include: E. 1st Street, E. 4th Street, Railroad Street, Layne Street, E. 3rd Street, School Street, and N. Harvell Street. Tri State Asphalt, Inc. of De Queen was awarded the contract at $531,173.00. Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid 2018.

And finally the Commission  has approved a bid for improvements to roadways in Pike County, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.
The purpose of this project is to resurface 1.3 miles of selected sections of various city streets in Glenwood to include: Park Street, Ferguson Street, Short Street, Betty Street, Pauline Street, Dennis Street, and Durwood Street. Cranford Construction Co of North Little Rock was awarded the contract at $184,490.50. Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid 2018.
