Rook has been at the animal SHELTER for a LONG TIME and she REALLY needs some folks to share her information to give her a shot at a future.

Rook is a Female American Stafford Terrier mix who has been at the pound for many months. She was almost put to sleep when the shelter ran out of room simply because she has had very little luck in getting people interested in her personality and story. However, Rook has managed to hold onto her chances at finding a home. Though her time is quickly running out, she still brings a smile to all who walk by her cage in the shelter. She is good with other dogs and is not overly active. She has also displayed good manners around people.

Rook has been ready for her new chapter to begin with you! Adopt today!

The shelter's adoption fees range from $40 to $144, depending on the gender and size of the animal or whether they have been spayed or neutered yet.

It is so unfortunate that there are thousands of dogs that are euthanized every year in our local shelter when there are so many dogs that would make fabulous pets. Please help us make a difference by spreading the word--share this blog on your Facebook page, Tweet about it too.

You can also have your pet micro-chipped for only $20 right at the shelter. That way if your pet is ever lost, he or she can be returned to you quickly when they are picked up by animal control.

The Animal Care and Adoption Center is located at 203 Harrison St., Texarkana, Ark. 71854 and is open Monday through Saturday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Call for information 870-773-6388.
