Pleasant Grove dropped a district softball contest to Atlanta, 11-1, Tuesday night at Lady Hawk Field.

After a scoreless first inning, the Lady Hawks struck first with back to back doubles by Brette Wacha and Faith Lipham. The Lady Rabbs answered in the top of the fourth inning when Carolyne Cullins scored on a single by Ashlyn Dodson. Dodson then came around to score on a base hit by Lauren Rutland.

The Lady Rabbs broke loose, scoring nine runs in the next two innings. The offensive explosion was capitalized by Cullins three-run home run over the left field fence in the fifth inning. Doubles by Alyssa, Alexandria, and Alana Oliver and singles from Cullins and Morgan Maxwell added five runs in the sixth inning to make the score 11-1.

The game was called after the sixth inning due to the ten run rule.

Other Lady Rabbs with hits included Jaci Cullins and Victoria Burke.

Pleasant Grove had hits from Kimmy Atienza, Aubrey Ashby, and Carly Barrett.

Alana Oliver took the win for the Lady Rabbs on the mound. Madison Haltom took the loss for the Lady Hawks.

Pleasant Grove will hit the road Friday for a district match up against Paris.
