Fundraiser for Chuck Womack on Saturday at Hot Tails Crawfish

On Saturday, April 18, a fundraiser will be held to help with expenses incurred during Chuck Womack's treatment for colon cancer. The event will be held at Hot Tails Crawfish hut on Hwy 71 just north of Interstate 30 in Texarkana. There is a bake sale with super yummy treats, many silent auction items and awesome raffles.

The bake sale starts at noon. If you are headed to the lake this weekend, stop by and pick up dessert! There are so many silent auction items that it would take hours to list them all. Visit the events page on Facebook to see pics and updates.

The family is hoping Chuck will make it back in time for the event but he is currently in Arizona recovering from a successful surgery to remove the cancer. The treatment continues for Chuck and his road to recovery will be a difficult one but the doctors feel confident that surgery went very well and they got all of the cancer.

Chuck is a father, brother, husband, grandfather, uncle and friend to many. The treatment he is receiving from the cancer center is saving his life and giving him back to his loved ones. While fighting this battle, expenses continue to pile up as there is no pause button on the costs associated with day-to-day living. Chuck's treatments require extensive travel. During this time he is not able to work.

Chuck had surgery the second week of April and chemo starts immediately. There will be a lot of follow up visits and treatments. Chuck and his wife, Barbara, have six children and numerous grandchildren. Please help this family stay afloat and take the worry of meeting the daily expenses off of their shoulders so they can concentrate on getting Chuck healthy and back on his feet.
