An environmental expo is set for Texas High School in Texarkana later today.

AP Environmental Science students at Texas High School will host their annual Environmental Expo on Thursday, March 19.  The event will be held from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the Dan Haskins Student Center,  2112 Kennedy Lane.

“By showcasing sustainable living all under one roof, this event allows students to see what they are studying in class and how it applies to the real world,” said Kelly Rowland, science teacher. “Thirty-five area eco-minded businesses are joining us for the event and will show guests what they are doing to protect the environment and conserve resources.

The Texas High School Environmental Expo focuses on two aspects:

*Area businesses that directly impact consumer consumption through products and/or services and how those can be reduced.

*Area industry/local government and what they are doing to reduce consumption of resources and protection of the environment in the Texarkana area.

The event is free and open to the public.  For more information, contact  Kelly Rowland, (903) 794-3891, Ext. 2220.

You are encouraged to attend this event. It will enlighten you as to what is being done in the area to preserve the environment, it will show your concern, and your gratitude to what the students and area companies and businesses are trying to accomplish.
