Easter is coming soon and everybody loves to color Easter eggs.

When I was kid growing up Easter time was special. Not only did it represent the resurrection of our lord and savior Jesus Christ but it meant family time. On the Saturday before Easter, my mother would get me and my brother together for the traditional coloring of the eggs, which back then was only a few colors. Easter Sunday is April 5, and some of my favorite memories as a child were having an Easter egg hunt in the backyard. In fact, you can do an Easter egg hunt just about anywhere. They're always fun. So, if you don't mind traveling a little ways down the road, Daisy State Park is the ideal place to take the kids.

Seems like a waste of perfectly good eggs, doesn't it?

There are Easter Egg hunts scheduled all over the Texarkana area for this weekend. Here are a few places that you can attend the festivities with your kids.

Easter features some of the tastiest treats of all times like Cadbury Creme Eggs and Heavenly Hash. (But not Mini Eggs. Whoever invented those chalky chocolate tablets clearly didn’t get Easter candy as a kid and is trying to punish the rest of us.) Marshmallow Peeps may also be a traditional Easter candy, but they are still good on every other day on the calendar.

Easter weekend is full of fun for the entire family in and around the Texarkana area. There are several egg hunts to attend with the kids. Win a 4-wheeler at the bull riding event in DeKalb, Texas.
